The small "no" I'm practicing this week
Saying no has always felt uncomfortably big for me — like I'm letting someone down just by protecting an hour of my own day. This week I'm practicing a very small version of it: declining one low-value request without explaining myself into circles. No five-paragraph apology, no overpromising "next time." Just a kind, plain "I can't this time."
It feels awkward, honestly. But there's a quiet relief underneath it, the kind that tells me this is exactly the muscle I've been avoiding building.
I'm curious: is there one small no you've been meaning to say? Not a grand boundary speech — just one tiny moment where you choose yourself a little sooner. I'd love to hear how it goes, if you try it.
