Crisis and Emergency Notice

What to do when a situation may involve immediate danger or urgent risk.

If there is immediate danger

CupTalks is not emergency care. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline now. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Do not wait for CupTalks in an emergency

CupTalks members, helpers, moderators, and administrators are not emergency responders. The app cannot monitor every conversation in real time and cannot guarantee immediate help.

If you or someone else may be at risk of immediate harm, contact local emergency services, a crisis hotline, or a trusted person nearby who can help right away.

Use crisis resources

In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Use local emergency numbers if there is immediate danger. See the Crisis Help resources for additional support.

Protect private information

Do not share passwords, medical records, financial information, or highly identifying details in messages or chatrooms.

Report unsafe behavior

Use report links for threats, harassment, manipulation, exploitation, or unsafe instructions so moderators can review them.
