The message I keep meaning to send

There's a message sitting in my phone that I've been meaning to send for weeks. Nothing big — just a "hey, thinking of you" to an old friend. I keep opening the thread, getting distracted, and closing it again.

Yesterday I finally sent it. Two lines. It took about twenty seconds. He replied within the hour, and we ended up chatting half the evening. Nothing dramatic — just... nice.

I think we imagine reaching out has to be a whole production: the right words, the right moment, a proper catch-up. It really doesn't. A short, imperfect check-in counts. People are usually happier to hear from us than we expect.

Is there a message sitting in your phone too? Maybe today's a good day to send it. No pressure — but I'm curious what's stopped you, if you'd like to share.
