Starting the week gently
Monday mornings used to feel like a test to me — as if I had to prove by 9 a.m. that the whole week would go well. If I woke up tired or slow, I took it as a bad sign, and then spent the day trying to catch up with myself.
Lately I've been trying something gentler. I pick one small thing to begin with — a proper breakfast, a short walk, one message I've been putting off — and let that be enough of a start. The rest of the week can unfold from there; it doesn't all have to be decided before lunch.
It hasn't made Mondays exciting, but it has made them kinder. If your week is starting slowly today, that may be a perfectly fine beginning.
What does a gentle start look like for you?
